"Do Now" Read the excerpt of FDR's Radio address to the American People "We Are Now in This War." Reflect on the question at the bottom in your notebook, or print a copy of the speech if you would like, and record your answer there. This should be placed in your notebook.

"Do Now" In times of war are all constitutional rights guaranteed? Think of an example we have learned thus far this year?
Today and Tomorrow we will focus of Executive order 9066, Japanese Internment and its implications. You may divide the following parts between Wednesday and Thursday.
First you will be answering the questions attached using the video Executive Order 9066. Read the questions and Vocabulary first before watching the video. Again, these can be printed out and written on, or answered directly into your notebook or History folder as classwork/notes.

Lastly you will be reading a Supreme Court Case Study - Korematsu v. United States 1944. This is the Supreme Court case that challenges the constitutionality of Executive Order. Fred Korematsu was a Japanese-American who was born in the United States, who refused to comply with the order. He became a fugitive, but was arrested and sentenced to five years probation. Read to see what the Supreme Court decided. When finished reflect upon the questions 1-5 in your notebook, to the best of your ability.
